The Two's

I can't win. I can't even really break even. And lastly, I can't even have a little drink to numb the day. I'm having one of those days where I look around and wonder what I have gotten myself into, instead of looking at the many blessing that I do have.

The Ladies are 31 months old, and just "full of life." This blog has not been updated in quite awhile so I thought I would share a few of the things we seem to all enjoy in our daily life.

-when one child is having a tough time (rolling on the ground screaming) the other is perfect
-both now have tents on their cribs, one for safety, and one because she thought she was missing out on something fun
-they attend playschool twice a week and both love it
-I no longer have to get in the pool at swimming lessons, but I somehow leave wet everytime as both of them have not completed a full lesson together in over a month.
-somehow they are still spreading poop everywhere, even the one who is potty trained
-they can get in and out of their carseats on their own and do not appreciate any help, in fact if you touch them during this time they have to start all over
-they have conversations with each other
-they play independently for longer periods
-one is potty trained at school or anytime she is not with me
-I have resorted to bribes, threats and minimal consequences, all things that I know as a teacher don't really work. Back in the day I just loved Alfie Kohn and Jim Faye, but now I'm just so tired that I keep sticking on these silly band-aids that get me just an inch closer to what I need to get done, but leave me miles from the desired goal.
-one is under the impression she is getting a baby "neigh" in dec.
-they love tv and most of the time this is the activity they can compromise on
Oh no, someone is awake. Deep breath.

Those bandaids are the only thing to stop the bleeding sometimes - especially when you really need to get your day to day stuff done! As the kids get older, I feel like I am spreading ace bandages over everything to keep it all together. Don't worry- my friend Amy said to me today.... "I love this age, because really, they won't remember all of the mistakes I make every day"

Hilarious....not really but so much like my life. Love the bandaid analogy. I did my best parenting before I had kids and had all kinds of great ideas....no time for those now!
